Even if her album was released late in the year, it generated SO much press, and 'BEYONCE' as a cultural term was way bigger than 'Katy Perry'. Miley owned 2013 more than Katy culturally as well.

Katy may have seen major success on the charts with Roar, but there is more to 'success' than sales, and the GP don't care what she sold, and maybe the Kats will learn this at some point.

Single sales? lol we've provided multiple receipts stating her as the #1 FEMALE not because of her hit singles but everything included. Album sales, single sales, streaming, social media etc.

It's no surprise that Beyonce is a bigger celebrity so of course she'd be more checked for but that's one thing against what? 4 other things Katy topped her in.
