#10: Green Day - Jesus Of Suburbia
-So it appears that Green Day made it to the top ten again. Not quite as high as last time, but still, top ten two years in a row is quite a feat. Quite a lot of alliteration there. Jesus of Suburbia is the best song off American Idiot, how can it not be at 9 minutes of pure excellence, but it's about tied with Boulevard of Broken Dreams as the best single. How does that work you ask? Well, all depends on the last power of the song, and how many times you hear it. Jesus of Suburbia is very new as a single, and hasn't had a chance to prove it can last as long as Boulevard after dealing with pop success (if it gets any). So Jesus Of Suburbia may experience that kind of success in 2006, and then it will prove if it can hold it's own as well as Boulevard did. But back to how great the song is. It's perfectly divided up into 5 chapters: Jesus Of Suburbia, City Of The Damned, I Don't Care, Dearly Beloved, and Tales Of Another Broken Home. All are equally great in their own ways.
At the center of the Earth
In the parking lot
Of the 7-11 were I was taught
The motto was just a lie
It says home is where your heart is
But what a shame
Cause everyone's heart
Doesn't beat the same
It's beating out of time
City of the dead
At the end of another lost highway
Signs misleading to nowhere
City of the damned
Lost children with dirty faces today
No one really seems to care
one down, nine to go. Each get very sexy home made collages, made by me. Do respond if you will. It'd be much appreciated.

I'll try to get 4 up today. That should work I think.
time for numba nine. hehe, that rhymed.
#9: Bloc Party - Banquet
-One of the catchiest songs of the year. Bloc Party is another part of the illustrious trio, along with the Kaiser Chiefs. They arrived at the beginning of the year, getting all sorts of buzz, and the buzz turned out to be right. It may take a few listens to fully appreaciate Silent Alarm, but when you do, it is amazing and beyond. Banquet was the lead single, and it got them recognized atleast. MTV2 played it a lot, and I'm sure a lot of UK stations played it as well. Kerrang, I believe is that video station over there. Am I wrong about that? Oh well. Bloc Party also should've got a new artist nominee at the grammys (bloody grammys, can't nominated a worthy band if their lives depended on it). Dunno how many other year ends this is on, but it deserves to be on all of them.
She's got such a dirty mind, and it never ever stops
And you don't taste like her, and you never ever will
And we don't read the papers, we don't read the news
Heaven's never enough, we will never be fooled
Turning away from the light, becoming adult
Turning, into my soul
I wanted, to bite not destroy, to feel her underneath
Turning, into the light
2 down, 8 to go. #8 will be up in a few hours, reply until then so I can post it!

and nowwww ladies and gentlemen, we have reached #8
#8: Mike Jones ft. Paul Wall and Slim Thug - Still Tippin'
-The best hip hop song of the year, no doubt. You've seen many other H-Town songs on this countdown. This one started it all. It completely revolutionized the rap world with it's brilliance. Mike Jones' cd went platinum, and that let Bun-B, Slim Thug, and Paul Wall all enjoy big debuts. Paul Wall even went so far as to debut at #1. The radio edit of this song wasn't allowed to say Fo Fo's, so it went with Po Po's. Po Po's are the police, I think. While Fo Fo's is a 44, WHICH IS A GUN. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES CHILDREN! Shooting cops is alright, as long as you don't say gun while doing it. It's amazing how ****ed up the FCC is. But America loves gangster ****, so this song turned into a huge hit anyways. The American Dream is out next year, and I bet it'll continue the H-Town saga.
Still tippin' on four Vouges rapped in four fours
Pimpin' four hoes and I'm packin four fours
Blowin' on that Indo, Game Cube Nintendo
Five percent tint so you can't see up in my window
These *****s don't understand me cause I'm Boss Hog on candy
Top down at Maxis with a big Glock 9 handy
Peaced up, creased up, stayin' dressed to impress
Big boss belt buckle under my Mitchell N Ess
Oh, Gucci shades up on my brades when I Escalade
When I'm ridin', Spreewheels slidin' like a escapade
I got it made, da big boss of da north,
ain't **** changed I still represent Swisha House
what will be #7?????

and before you even have time to digest #8, #7 is here.
#7: Death Cab For Cutie - Soul Meets Body
-I may have gone a bit overboard on the image. But it really didn't take me that long. Anyways, Soul Meets Body deserves an awesome image. It's one of the more obvious songs to appear in the top ten. Those who don't like it may be saying "Yay! It isn't #1". While those who love it would say "Awwww, I thought it would top the chart for sure". Well it arrives at #7 because six songs were worthier than it. Any of those six may be #1. One things for sure, it isn't Soul Meets Body. Death Cab might be my favorite band of this year, and they might have one more song to go on this countdown, and it might be #1. Might, might, might, might, might, might.
I cannot guess
what we'll discover
when we turn the dirt
with our palms cupped like shovels
but I know our filthy hands
can wash one another's
and not one speck will remain
I do believe it's true
that there are roads left in both of our shoes
but if the silence takes you
then I hope it takes me too
so brown eyes I'll hold you near
cuz you're the only song I want to hear
a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
well thats 4 down in this glorious top ten. What will be next?!? If you guess it, you get a cookie with sprinkles.

and again with #6. This is truly shocking.
#6: Nine Inch Nails - The Hand That Feeds
-Another fairly obvious one. Have I surprised anybody so far? This song just missed out on the top 5, and it really deserved to be there. It's an amazing comeback single from one of the greatest bands ever. It's the #1 song on Alternative Radio this year, and damn well it should be. This will go down as one of Nine Inch Nail's most memerable songs ever. Right up there with Closer and Head Like A Hole. It's definitely a concert favorite, I saw them in October. They were amazing live, ask anyone that's seen them and they will tell you the same thing. I heard that they might have another album next year, but we all know NIN take about 5-6 years to put out a new album, so I shall not get my hopes up.
what if this whole crusade's
a charade
and behind it all there's a price to be paid
for the blood
on which we dine
justified in the name of the holy and the divine
just how deep do you believe?
will you bite the hand that feeds?
will you chew until it bleeds?
can you get up off your knees?
are you brave enough to see?
do you want to change it?
so naïve
to keep holding on to what I want to believe
i can see
but i keep holding on and on and on and on
might be one more before I sleep, hopefully I can finish before the new year.

one more before I turn in for the night. Kicks off the top 5 it does.
#5: Straylight Run - Hands In The Sky (Big Shot)
-Starting the top five is none other than Straylight Run. I went kinda crazy with this song back in September/October and sent it to pretty much everyone. Soon, people started to realize just how great it was and it has landed on a number of other year end countdowns as well. Straylight Run have gone the same course as Taking Back Sunday did last year. I definitely did not like them at this time last year, but once I heard this song, I gave them another chance and found out their brilliance. Hands In The Sky is their best song, but I do hope it will be bested whenever their next album comes out. A best song from an artist has only the purpose of being bested, and being extraordinary. It starts off slow, like most of their other songs, and that's really ****ing good. But where it seperates itself into it's own category is when the beat speeds up, and it becomes one of this years best songs. They even brought in sirens to conclude the song on a very high note.
Tear it out of these open pages
Women and kids of all ages
Millions of men with blank faces
Italicized lies, headlines, bold type
Living lost just like deer in headlights
Terrified, blind and wait to die
I wonder when they'll come get me
I wonder when they'll come get me
We want to, have to, need to
And we'll tell you when they're hungry again
And we'll tell you when they're hungry again
It never ends, never ends
We want to, have to, need to
And we'll tell you when they're hungry again
And we'll tell you when they're hungry again
It never ends, never ends, never ends
Big shot screaming, "Put your hands in the sky."
He says, "Give it up boy; give it up or you're gonna die.
You'll get a bullet in the back of the neck,
In the back of the neck, right between the eyes."
what songs could possibly be higher than Hands In The Sky? I do believe you'll find out before years end.

I don't even know where to begin.
There are only a handful of songs I detest and most of the songs outright rule. Nice to see someone else give Bloc Party some big time love as well.
Rawk.
