Her releasing on digital first and selling a lot may have had a negative effect/shifted on her physical selling power. As in her fans who usually bought her physical CD's may have already gotten a digital copy since it was the only way you could get one thus she may sell less physically this time around.
With that said I don't get how you say you won't sell the album all-together though

It's good in the end because it stops artists from resorting to idol tactics like in Japan, where they'd force their fanbase to buy the album digitally the first week and then physically the next. It won't end up hurting either Beyoncé or Target, but it will keep most artists from resorting to idol tactics.
It's a bit ironic considering they have many "target exclusives".
Which gets them sales? Not ironic at all actually.

I'm sure Target is used to bullying their way into exclusives, so glad Beyonce made it an example that you can release your own ****, make it wildly successful and have others adapt to YOU. Other big box stores and CD stores will have no issues picking this up and advertising it nicely given the hype so it makes me wonder if it's just Target's principle to do this. Seems like a wasted opportunity in my eyes.
Explain to me how Beyonces "demographic" has anything to be ashamed of when over 600k people spent $15+ when other artists have their album discounted in various stores and cant hit that number, but you obviously cannot answer that
to Beyonce for her success.
