"The Time" is a typical Black Eyed Peas video. While it might be a typical "party" video, it still has the elements and craziness of BEP we all know. The effects on the video come out naturally and not over-done, which BEP usually do in their music with the over-production and too much use of auto-tune. The video is well-synced with the song and the vibe of the song is felt throughout the video.
9. Waka Waka – Shakira
While this might not have the budget or the expensive production of "The Time", it still serves the official FIFA 2010 World Cup song perfectly. It captures the meaning of the World Cup, which brings all of the cultures and countries together to celebrate the Football games. It unites every person in the world and ties them into the game - They all suddenly become brothers (Not with the opposing teams, ofcourse ). The presence of Shakira, which herself represent pureness and peace, the simple dance moves, the joint of vary of people, the help of famous footballers, clips from previous World Cup games help into making this one of the best videos of 2010.
8. Gimme Dat - Ciara
I'd never thought I'll like a Ciara video, but she killed it with this one. Th video makes the song justice with her stunning dance moves and choreography that cannot be done by simply any other artist out there. The editing is also great, which why this is the best Ciara video ever.
7. California Gurls – Katy Perry
At first, I hated this video because it wasn't shot in California. But then again I thought, it would be too ordinary and too expect if it was. The video itself serves the song very great, and it takes us in journey into the Candyfornia World. The video storyline is cute, where Katy is like "Alice in Wonderland" of Candyfornia, which is controlled by the evil Snopp Dogg and his vicious Gummy-Bears. She's on to a mission to save Candyfornia from the hands of the evil rapper, which on her way she faces quiet a few obstacles and saves couple of her team-mates, The Candyfornia Gurls. Together they are united, defeat every obstacle, and with Katy's unbeatable Boob Cream Launcher and the hotness of the Candyfornia Gurls, they bring down the castle of the evil rapper and demolish his army, the gummy bears. Then Katy and her friends happily bury Snop Dogg in the hot, warm sands of Candyfornia, singing the summer anthem, "California Gurls".
California Gurls video is colorful, hot, fun and summery. It has the vibes of the song, and although it wasn't shot in California, it still serves it perfectly.
6. Jar of Hearts – Christina Perri
Where did Christina Perii come from? First her amazing yet so simple ballad, "Jar of Hearts", emerged into the charts out of nowhere. Then she comes out with this great video for the song. The video is artistic, and the lightning is greatly-done. The lightning is an important part here because the vibe of the song is very eerie and dark, so the viewer needs to feel that in order to get deep into the song. As she walks on the ruins of the streets, which are dark just as her stolen heart, crazy people which might have escaped from the set of "Dawn of the Dead" dance crazily behind her. The explanation for this might be that they represent her heart and soul; which are going crazy like the people behind her. Then she find the man who stole her heart, on a mission to steal more hearts. Then she gets the nerve to face him, which results in beating him and retrieving her heart back. The man cannot leave without the hearts he has collected, so he collapses into the ground. The lightning and the background suddenly change into more happy and colorful colors; a sign that every thing is back to normal.
