I meant what's appealing in terms of what is actually displayed on the show and what is being reviewed on. Good criticism, moral fibre ect... Then they might check it out on Youtube and see how a certain contestant performance or what a certain judge said and they might think to themselves "I wanna see more of that. I'll tune in next week"
It's that simple. People do follow the flow but they have their own minds and they do as they please despite the positive or negative. See it's not just about how successful something is. If you're only watching and saying you are liking something because it's successful then whenever that changes, so will your opinion of it. You can't look at things that way. It's ignorance. And I refuse to believe the majority do.
I just think the general public will be more interested in what's buzzing in the online culture and that will determine whether they become an avid watcher or not.
