I wouldn't come to that conclusion until WW #'s come in.
In America, BJ is doing better. I don't care about the fact that it's released in the 4th quarter, because the overall market is declining. Bionic was promoted on the American Idol Finale, Oprah, David Letterman, the Today Show, and a VH1 documentary, and the MTV Movie Awards. Both Work Bitch and NMT peaked at the same position on Pop radio, so they received equal radio exposure.
As for the chart positions, had BJ been released at any other time in the year, it's positions would be higher. It's a given that right now is when older albums and X-Mas start to rise. An example being the UK, where BJ will sell close to FF's opening #'s but won't peak as high because of all the other albums out.
Both are flops and it's pointless to nitpick which is the bigger flop. Instead, what do these flop albums and eras tell us about their future?
In You Lost Me and in the fact that Xtina actually had the drive and ability to go out and promote and sing her songs live, there was hope for Xtina's future.
I don't see any hope for Britney in BJ or the era.
I dont think Xtina did international promotion for Bionic but it still had mostly Top 10 debuts
Britney did promote in the UK though and it doesn't seem to be helping
So the lack of promo excuse can't be used internationally

You're right. Xtina promoted Burlesque internationally, but not Bionic and both still did better.
