How are those lyrics anti feminist though? The lyrics to CAGI could also be seen as empowering because the girl is is confident enough in herself to tell the guy that whenever he's ready he can come get it she's not chasing after the guy because she laid out an open invitation so now now it's his turn to come after her.
I just think it's funny who Lorde goes after though. I'll sit here and wait for her to come after Beyonce for Single Ladies or Why Don't You Love Me....
Also I'm tired of feminists trying to control what women can do. Isn't feminism supposed to be about women gaining the power to DO, SAY, WEAR whatever they want and not being CONFINED to any gender role? If a woman wants to sing about wanting her man to come and get it then she has that right. Telling a female she can't is anti feminist as well and confining women to only be able to sing about certain subjects in a certain perspective.
Okay you all are doing the most she's not bashing Selena personally she is just saying she doesn't like the lyric because of her own personal beliefs which is completely fine.
She voiced her opinion respectfully and there's no reason to bash her. I stan for both girls but I'm not delusional (even though I don't think CAGI is portraying women badly). Just stop getting your panties all bunched. More than 85% of you say worse things about other artists including both them, so sit down.
She is just another boring & pretentious 'i make meaniful pop music im better than other pop stars' types. Who cares.
Edit: I would like to add that isn't she being the anti-feminist for telling a woman what she can and cant do or say? I fail to see how the lyrics of CAGI are anti-feminist. Is it anti-feminist for a woman to openly express her interest in someone? Honestly....
So a woman isn't in the freedom and power of letting know a man SHE WANTS HIM and She's waiting for him?
Isn't she going against the feminism that way?
How are exactly woman being portrayed with that?
That ugly thing should better shut its mouth up.

Not every choice a woman makes is feminist just because it's a woman making it. That's a myth, and Lorde isn't controlling anything. She just made an observation about the song. Sometimes it's not always either/or. There are grey areas. CAGI is one of them.

I have yet to see Lorde actually say something offensive about another artist (usually she just drags the lyrics they sing) and she always have you guys up in flames like she stabbed ur mom.
THIS!
I don't see a Selena diss at all. Can someone point it out for me??
