The reasons you listed are why I disagree with this. A mentor should be picked on credentials. This show is designed to launch people into successful careers and Demi is still in the early stages of hers. She's not even 20.

I don't want this to be a platform for her music because that is what makes the Voice so tacky and fraudulent. Simon is playing the WRONG game competing with these new talent competitions, he needs to bring it back to the core - the successful people leaving the competition and being pioneered by experienced mentors.
