I agree. Popstars should purposely manufacture their image, songs and performances to be suitable for pre-teen girls. Katy does this very well.
#clapback
I've grown to like Katy, but this is some hypocritical ********. She used nudity when it was useful to her and now that she's trying to appeal to a younger demographic, suddenly she's so above it.

If anything she's trying to appeal to an older demographic with this album.
Being hypocritical applies with ANYTHING though, including music.
"I hate people who try to change genres, even though my music has been different genres before".
Y'all would be quick to call an artist a hypocrite if they said that, but your stan glasses are on so tight you can't even notice with your own fave.
Embarassing
Do you even know what being hypocritical mean? she's basically saying that she's been there done that and has already move on while the others keep using the nude card to get noticed, why is that hard to understand?
She still tried to downplay people who do it often, just because she does it less which is still hypocritical.
"I've stolen before, but I hate people who steal regularly"
"I've murdered before, but I hate serial killers"
"I've been to jail before, but I hate convicts"
Do you not see the contradictions in those?
I get where you are coming form but the use of hate, yeah Katy never went that far with it
I actually see where she is coming from, especially for one particular person but she shouldn't be the one saying it. Then again, why is she even worrying about this situation. How about putting all that extra energy into your "art"
She's taking a shower in her 'Roar' video and her costume is like a bikini so I don't really get what she means.
You don't see anything though, just her shoulders
You all don't seem to be able to see the difference between being sexy or using sex appeal and literally BEING NAKED or having all of your ass exposed which is what she's referring to

Hypocritical is saying you're against something, but you are guilty of doing it.
She's calling out pop girls who've been nude, and she's been nude. WHETHER SHE WAS NUDE 100,000 TIMES OR 2 TIMES IT'S STILL BEING HYPOCRITICAL.
I don't know why y'all are sitting here with this theory "OH, SHE DIDN'T DO IT AS OFTEN AS THEM SO IT DOESN'T MAKE HER LOOK LIKE SHE'S CONTRADICTING HERSELF".
If anything she's trying to appeal to an older demographic with this album.
If that's what she's trying to do, then she failed with PRISM. Out of all her albums, One of the Boys is probably the one that appeals most to an older demo.
But she's not talking about using sex appeal, just being naked. Like, physically wearing a bra and panties. Not just being 'suggestive'
Being naked is using sex appeal. And she has been half naked many a times. Why are you beating around the bush so much? I don't see what is so difficult to swallow.
Basically we're complex beings. Playing that card is more "called for" with certain songs. It's obvious that nakedness is rather inappropriate with a song like Unconditionally, or Wrecking Ball
