Better is low-key only song that I like by Meghan
HTM A BOP
Closer is catchy but yeah, I kinda hated it in it's prime
True Disaster True Lead Single from LW
So Hedley has kinda been a band I've been low-key supporting since 2013 when they released Anything. While this song is nowhere near the quality of that or their song Hello, this song is pretty nice. The production makes me think of a winter wonderland breakup song .
39. Meghan Trainor - NO
Meghan makes her final appearance with the song that started this era. I wasn't really sold on this song at first, but I finally got on board when the video came out. I don't listen to this song as much now since a lot of better songs came out as the year went on, and some other songs grew on me. But this song has also become so quotable so this song hasn't really died tbh
38. Zara Larsson & MNEK - Never Forget You
Probably the only Zara single this year that gets an 8 from me. The production is great, Zara and MNEK sound fabulous, and the song is pretty balanced.
37. Troye Sivan - YOUTH
Youth appeared on last year's list (I think). If I didn't include it then, well then it's being included now since it got some North American success. This was the perfect Troye song to get that exposure because it's production is so energetic and uplifting, and the song is very anthemic without trying too hard. Hope he gets more success in the future
36. Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better
I bought this song when it was 0.69 on iTunes. It started off as a pretty pleasant song to start off, and then it just got more addicting the more I listened to it. Though I think he says "and any GUY" instead of any GIRL in the chorus because of his diction. But whatevs. I like the song.
35. Fleur East - Breakfast
Probably the only X Factor UK act that I've liked in the last two years. And Breakfast is her catchiest single she has. If only this had US success.
34. Samantha Jade - Always
My Best of 2016 wouldn't be complete without some Sammi in the mix. And here she finally is with one of TWO songs in the list. This song is very sugary, sweet, and Samantha is very friendly to listen to on this song, as always. She's the kind of woman you could take home to Mom in this song.
33. Bonnie McKee - Easy
Bonnie's second and final appearance. Of the songs on her EP, this song actually stuck with me the most. It's nice to see her in a more vulnerable way. And the production is really nice here and she sounds really nice. I'm just glad she's still doing music.
32. The Veronicas - On Your Side
I think the video alone shows just how much better this song is compared to In My Blood. The girls sound so much nicer on this track, the production is a lot nicer, and the breakdown is better too. Literally everything was a step up from In My Blood.
31. Carrie Underwood - Church Bells
Probably the only song from Carrie's current era that I actually really like. And the bitch gave it a tour video. . Whatever. I like how dark this song is, and how I could probably write an Episode App story to this, or a Sims story to this. It's very descriptive. Yeah.
Extra Tidbit:
HURRICANE MATTHEW
The most powerful storm of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season, the first Category 5 in the Atlantic since Hurricane Felix in 2007, and the deadliest storm since Hurricane Stan in 2005. It was also the costliest storm since Sandy in 2012. By far, the most interesting storm this season for the weather nerd I am.
Treat You Better is alright, Shawn's done better and also worse (from the small amount that I've heard.)
NO and Never Forget You are great bops YOUTH is everything, yesssss King Troye!
