I think X-Factor will be good for Britney. The public still think she's fat, in and out of rehab, popping out babies faster than she pops her gum - and bald. This will give Britney a major platform to launch the final phase of her comeback: the media, general public and spotlight.
This is also great promo for her future singles and albums. I remember reading comments where some people didn't even know that HIAM and TTWE was by Britney until they saw the videos, etc...
If JLo and X-Tina can grab massive hit songs from their shows - Britney definitely can too.
Finally, people really need to stop calling X-Factor a flop. X-Factor's first season outrated season 1 of The Voice despite launching in the Fall against major primetime shows. Some episodes of American Idol this year even dipped towards XF numbers.
Britney will boost the ratings for the show and the show will launch Britney's career even higher (as long as Britney acts like herself).

X-Factor will provide her an avenue to finally represent herself again to the public with a clean image.
I think this would be great for her, it would make the public reconnect with her again, and that is always a good thing. If true, I'll be curious enough to check her on the show (I gave up on the middle of the season).
The show didn’t exactly deliver last season. By the end of its American debut, ratings were in the 3.4 range and had about half the viewers that Simon Cowell promised. The former ‘American Idol’ honcho once considered anything less than a 20 million strong audience a “disappointment.” The average numbers were in the 11 million range. (These numbers aren’t anything to send back to the kitchen and most networks would kick puppies for this kind of viewership, but they still failed to impress Fox.)
Cowell has cleaned house after the show “limped to the finish” of its first season. The show’s host, Steven Jones, was sent packing. Nicole Sherzinger and Paula Abdul followed and rumors of replacements have been flying since their departure. Janet Jackson was the last to decline a seat on the judging panel.
It appears Britney will be coming to the show’s rescue. Her fiancé/agent, Jason Trawick, is thisclose to closing a deal that should be finalized next week according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Recently, reports surfaced that the pop superstar was interested in joining the panel, but according to an insider, it was show creator Simon Cowell who made the initial approach. Spears is signed to Sony Music’s RCA Records, which absorbed her original label Jive in 2011 and has exclusive music rights to X Factor artists.”
If the deal goes through, Britney will be cashing a nice check. She was offered $10 million, but insiders say she is holding out for $16 million.

as usual you make valid points but she has nothing to promote...that's the downside. The positive is that she can restore confidence to the public that don't follow her daily...the nerve of those lessers...lol...wi see that she is together and not a hot mess like she was 5 years ago.
