"Impossible"
Once upon a time, in a far away kingdom, lived a talented guy named James Arthur. He was lucky enough to win The X Factor and become England's new sweetheart. All of a sudden he decided to act like a homophobic douchebag in public. End of story.
Sweedish House Mafia
"Don't You Worry Child"
One of the rare EDM songs that I can bare to listen. Unlike most of its braindead genre counterparts It has an inspiring deep message that I really like. Sadly they're already retired so I guess it was a nice way to go.
The Vamps
"Wild Heart"
When I first heard of these boys I really thought they were trying so hard to be the next One Direction. I recently added this song to my playlist because it's really nice and simple, nothing too pretentious or commercial like I first assumed they were.
Sia feat. The Weeknd & Diplo
"Elastic Heart"
Sia might not be the prettiest girl out there but she's definitely got talent. This is one of the best songs in the new Hunger Games soundtrack, it might be a bit difficult to digest at first but it's pure gold once you get into it.
Miranda Lambert
"Mama's Broken Heart"
Okay I gotta admit I really liked a Miranda Lambert song. It was mostly cause I finally gave "Over You" a chance early this year and I loved it and this one just got in my way. This song is like a role play, and she does it so well it's like it was written for her.
Passion Pitt
"Carried Away"
The indie wave just keeps popping up every now and then these years. What I like the most about indie bands is their creativity, they have the ability to make amazing things with little to no budget. Just look at this video, it's pure art.
Christina Aguilera
"We Remain"
Christina has been secretly slaying this year. And the funny thing about that is that she's having the last laugh watching all her peers try and fail way worse than she did. "We Remain" is by far the best song in the Catching Fire soundtrack. Very beautiful ballad.
The Civil Wars
"The One That Got Away"
This song is soothing and sad at the same time like most of their material. I've been waiting for them to drop a game-changing single but they haven't got it just yet. Well there's always next year.
You Me At Six
"Lived A Lie"
If this was 2011 this song would have probably been top 40. It's really good I gotta say, it has amazing lyrics and a very inspiring vibe. But I don't know, I just don't feel like listening to songs like these on the regular like I did back in the day.
James Blunt
"Bonfire Heart"
This is the first single of his that I've liked in years. He's not very consistent and sometimes his voice sounds really annoying to me. I think this one is so sweet, like one of those songs you'd whisper to someone's ear.
Thanks for your comments.

Really? I thought it was just okay, at least they went back to their roots and dropped the "comedy" side they tried with the previous ones.

Linkin Park
"Castle Of Glass"
Not precisely my favorite Linkin Park single but it's one of the best songs in their last album to be quite honest. What I really love about it are its relatable lyrics. I'm guessing all of us have felt like we desperately need to be saved at one point of our lives.
CHVRCHES
"Recover"
Why on earth didn't I know just how awesome this new band is? It was such a nice surprise when I found out about them thanks to last.fm. They have this funny combination of top notch production, crazy beats, cute lyrics and very sweet vocals.
One Direction
"Little Things"
First of all I'm not the biggest fan of One Direction, they're probably the current most overrated music act out there. However, this song is their best effort released this year in my opinion. It has Ed Sheeran's fingerprints all over it and it was worthy of a mention.
Katy Perry
"Unconditionally"
Katy Perry represents everything about the music industry at the moment, all the good and bad aspects. Unconditionally is a very nice song indeed, but sadly it lacks any sort of credibility due to the fact that its sole purpose is to be eaten up by pop radio as fast as possible.
Fall Out Boy feat. Big Sean
"The Mighty Fall"
First of several entries by FOB. Their comeback caught me completely off guard this year, not only did they reinvent themselves but they also got it right. This song goes to show the versatility of their sound, it's not precisely single material but it does the trick.
Bastille
"Laura Palmer"
Probably my favorite new band of the year. They have this unique sound that I can't relate to anything I've listened to before. This song is one of the deepest in their album and I still don't understand what the video is about.
The Fray
"Love Don't Die"
My favorite band has just come back this year. I'm so sorry but I just can't connect to this song like I did with their previous lead singles. I get they're trying to experiment with a new sound but I really miss their signature piano ballad style, can't wait for the new album though.
Foxes
"Youth"
This girl might come off as the typical pop girl in the making but I think there's more to that. She has a beautiful voice which blends perfectly fine with a lot of genres. I can see her breaking through if she plays her cards right.
Matchbox Twenty
"Our Song"
One of my favorite tracks from M20's new album, the lyrics are kind of cheezy but the song is really cute. I wish they had released a proper video for it instead of just throwing a lot of live footage. And then they disappeared again...
Switchfoot
"Who We Are"
It's been like 7 years since I last heard from this band, I didn't even know they were still together. This is the type of song you would love to sing along while driving with your friends on the highway. So catchy, it makes me feel free.
Thanks for your comments.

5/10 on the songs. Castle of Glass is a great song. I would think you'd hate 1D but I agree on the Ed Sheeran comment.
5/5 on the artists! Paramore
