You're using subjective qualitative claims to refute quantitative conjecture.
Your argument didn't happen.

MEANWHILE those 2 songs are pretty much BRAND NEW compared to some of these songs that were released almost 5 and 4 years ago and katy just performed those 2 songs in front of BILLIONS of people, I would seriously worried if they weren't up in the top 200
but carry on thinking the US = the World

Your fave isn't even arguably in this conversation and you're a known Katy troll so what are you doing here

You're doing the exact same things and your use of vaguely mathematical words doesn't change that

It may not be the world, but it is where half of all our faves' sales are. So my US receipts > your Turkey receipts

Um, no, actually; there are actual numbers related to my argument (those being the 8.2m sales according to IFPI, the 500k sold in the US after that, and the 400k+ sold in Japan after that, the latter two having been provided by a friendly monster). Yours is just "but the longevity tho."

Actually Rihanna unlike everyone else's "fave" has global appeal and half her sales don't always come from US, but try again
and my point was aimed at the delusional gaga stan, not the katy kats so take a damn seat

Let's hope this inaccurate thread remains open till then because I'd LOVE to see the official receipts.
And please don't bother posting your estimations because even I can do that

4) Hot n Cold 11,150,000
5) E.T. 10,150,000
6) I Kissed a Girl 10,150,000
7) Teenage Dream 8,800,000
8) Dark Horse 7,100,000
9) Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) 6,500,000
10) Wide Awake 5,600,000
11) Part of Me 5,200,000
12) The One That Got Away 4,200,000
13) Waking Up in Vegas 3,500,000
14) Thinking of You 1,800,000
15) Unconditionally 1,600,000
And I don't mean I just whipped up these estimations or pulled them out of my ass; it takes a long time for me to do global estimates like these.
Basically I used models of Roar, IKAG, and Cali Gurls' sales in the us and applied the approximate growth rates to their IFPI sales to derive a global total, and from there used a model to estimate global sales of each other track by summing all the known, verified sales of every track and deriving with that a multiplier from the aforementioned three IFPI entrants' statistics.

Retro's OWN estimation early last year
What changed your mind?

The updated sales from individual countries added together don't push it to 10M. They don't even take it to the 9M mark. This is why I keep asking for a breakdown. The song basically had its entire chart run and most of its catalog sales counted by IFPI because it was released so early in the year.
