They're ignoring their A+ properties and not giving them the games they deserve. They need to stop holding Pokemon to the portable system. The launch lineup should consist of Zelda, Mario, Starfox, Metroid, Kirby etc.

They've released 2/3 commercial flops and 3/3 technical flops since the GameCube. They need to come hard with a console and lineup that people actually want. It's the hardcore online gamers they need to impress. They give free hype and promo. If the word on the street is that the console sucks, people aren't going to buy it. It's simple economics

I doubt it will do amazing numbers. It may do sub-par if Pokemon gets released to it.

Y'all are so negative, but I guess Nintendo deserves this. In my opinion, Wii U has the best first party software this generation, and the critics agree shown by metacritic showing this. Their quality of software is not an issue, especially when you look at games like TLoZ:BotW.

I think there's more to this. Iwata (RIP LEGEND) said that NX may have different form factors. Kimishima also said that they want the console to be cheap. So I reckon there will be different SKUs along the line of:

SKU 1: Nintendo NX Handheld that can connect to the TV (sub-Xbox One power level)
SKU 2: Nintendo NX Handheld that can connect to TV (Xbox One/PS4 power level)
SKU 3: NX home console (PS4 Neo power level)

In this scenario they could have a cheap console on the market while competing with the big boys. I have always thought of NX as an ecosystem rather than a singular console. I think it would work along the lines of SKU 1 plays the majority of the games and SKU 2 and SKU 3 can play all NX games.

Side note: News report from the Wall Street Journal claim the NX is "compatible" with Nintendo mobile games and is cheaper than we expect.

Yeah, I don't see it happening but a lot of previously reliable sources have brought up this possibility up. I still think NX will have multiple form factors, although I think it will launch with only one.

The fact that Take Two and CD Project Red are "excited" for the NX makes no sense though, as they work on home consoles and high spec PCs. There must be a missing piece.

Can they just add an extra gpu in the dock which will amp up the graphics above Xbone/PS4

and the actual console has the tegra chip.

That would be cool and similar to most gaming Laptop with the light but still powerful intel soc and optional dedicated nvidia GPU dock for more intense game.

^^ That's what I thought, but getting devs to develop the game for basically 2 different systems would push third parties away. Unless there are "TV exclusive" games.

This is a great idea, but wouldn't that mean some games could only work with the Neo Power Level one? It would be a bad move to release games which only can be on one NX version
