Rihanna and Bruno can be big, they are still on their ways, I do not know bout Katy. It is so easy to them to get a #1everytime they want cuz their music is catchy.

Rihanna is a household name and is among the best-selling artists of all time. You tried though.

How can I act as if anything when Wide Awake wasn't even going to contribute to her passing MJ when TOTGA had already stopped the streak when it failed to reach the top and Billboard wasn't going to include it anyways? Get your facts straight first; they're a mess.
Yes others artists discount their singles but those artists are new up-and-coming artists who are trying to build up an audience, not famous pop artists who are trying to connive their way to a record; they're two completely different reasons: one is understandable, the other has good reason to be frowned upon.
As far as S&M with Rihanna and Britney, that was a natural collaboration. It wasn't meant to do anything but give the fans of both artists a song to bop to. The only reason Katy kept using rap collaborations was for the record, nothing but a tactical stunt with no other value whatsoever.

You make it seem like it's easy to get that #1. Some of the artists you've listed haven't managed that feat, let alone hit top 10 in years and some of the artists have only just recently gotten 3 top 10s with one album in their 10+ years in the industry.
Let's not diminish a feat that is very difficult to achieve.

Number ones aren't effortless. They actually take a lot of promotion by the label to even break into the top ten threshold. It takes a lot of effort from people who are behind the scenes making sure that radios are playing the songs on a regular basis.
That goes for any song by any artist. So that's not to diminish any of their accomplishments.
They also have good quality control, making sure their music is appealing enough to a vast majority, which is something other artists may need more of.

If she keeps going at this rate she will be doing very well for herself, yes. But it's not that time so we can't start saying stuff like she is.
And keep in mind when comparing Beyonce to Rihanna, one has almost double the solo albums as the other.

While Teenaged Dream's singles spanned over two years with 9 singles.

Well one has the star power to make an impact without being in a girl band. So like duh she'll have more solo albums....

lol. And where is Michelle and Kelly? Where is Geri, Victoria, Mel C and B and Emma? Where is En Vogue? Where is Nicole? Just because you're in a girl band doesn't ensure huge success. In fact it's probably easier to establish yourself once than twice.
And anyway, amounts of albums has nothing to do with girl bands. I don't see the correlation between how many albums you have and whether or not you were in a girl band. I get that you need star power to release a successful album though and I can see what you're trying to say (that it was easier for Beyonce) but that doesn't have anything to do with amounts of albums.
10 years: 4 albums
8 years: 7 albums.

Are you serious? I kind of get S&M but I have experienced three dimwitted bitches yelling TGIF when school was over on Friday. It's highly relatable.

They make (sometimes quality ![Keir](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/keir_zps24e7c972.gif) ) music which young people like ![@michael.](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/micheal_zps45ccf519.gif) They also have the "it" or the "X Factor", something you can't describe but it makes them more desirable in my opinion ![smile](images/smilies/images/smilies/smiley.gif) (Although Rihanna's & Bruno's not working on me ![lmao](http://atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/lmao.gif) )

How can the GP relate to threesomes, skinny dipping, getting your car towed, and getting kicked out of a bar all in one night? I know there are some people that are out there, but surely most people won't experience all of that in a night.

But Firework, Teenage Dream, Diamonds, We Found Love, Just The Way You Are, Grenade, etc. are just a few songs that are huge since the general public can 'click' with them.
|
Mess all artists do that, including your fave. Some, like Katy and Rihanna, are just better at it and get #1s.

If you think that the GP knows which song is number 1 and If you think number ones matters... they listen to hit songs yes... but after 1-2 months stop listening to them and there the song dies. While there are songs that live forever ![:)](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/smile.gif) So for example Firework can be remembered while Teenage Dream is forgotten a long time ago.. both number 1 songs... And the fact that no one is listening to Diamonds now.. unlike months ago.. while a lot of people still listen to WFL and Umbrella.. Riri's 12 number 1s matter only to the chart followers..
Gaga is bigger than these 3 tho and she has 4 number 1 singles, and has bigger avarage single and album sales WW ![:)](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Matthew Knowles was the driving force for Bey during the earlier years up until 4. Without his business savvy and manipulation, Beyonce could have been at the same level as Kelly or Michelle.

Diamonds is still one of the top 20 songs on-demand right now though, and Lady Gaga only has 3 #1s (Just Dance, Poker Face, and Born This Way) over the span of 3 releases. Rihanna had 5 #1s during her first three eras (SOS from AGLM, Umbrella, Take a Bow, and Disturbia from GGGB: Reloaded, and Live Your Live - a collaboration with T.I.).

Facts are Facts And If you are a Rihanna stan to argue with me ok ... rihanna have more records sold overall than Gaga (because of the more years in the industry) but Katy stan ![:D](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) When Gaga tripples katy's album sales WW and have more single sales WW more tour gross .. so what is your point ?
