The Smashing Pumpkins: Banda de rock alternativo fundada en Chicago alrededor de 1988, sus integrantes originales fueron Billy Corgan (guitarra y voz), James Iha (guitarra), D’arcy Wretzky (bajo) y Jimmy Chamberlin (batería). Sus integrantes han ido cambiando constantemente durante los últimos años, en 1997 cambian a Chamberlin y en 1999 Wretzy abandona la banda y es reemplazada por Melissa Auf der Maur (bajista de Hole).

De su discografía destacan los álbumes “Siamese dreams” y “Adore”, pero más significativamente el álbum doble “Mellon Collie and the infinite sadness” a mediados de los ’90; de éste último salieron éxitos como “Thirty-three”, “Bullet with butterfly wings” y el ganador como Video del Año de los VMA’s en 1996 “Tonight tonight”. Otros sencillos recordados son “Today”, “Ava adore”, “Cherub rock” y la que apareció en el soundtrack de Batman & Robin “The end is the beginning is the end”.

A principios de 2000 grabaron un álbum titulado MACHINA/The machines of God, y unos meses más tarde lanzarían su contraparte MACHINA II/The friends and enemies of modern music. Del primero, su sencillo promocional fue “The everlasting gaze”. Aquí está el video pa que lo vean!

Sí, esa canción de Dover es genial. Me gusta más el estilo que tenían cuando "Devil came to me". Ahorita se metieron en una onda electro-dance que todavía no entiendo, pero bueno! Tampoco me quita el sueño
