Does someone want to explain to me what the whole deal with Original Doll was? I've heard so much but know nothing.
It was going to be Britney's most personal album ever. There are multiple rumors behind it being scrapped, from it being too personal, her pregnancy etc. Most people don't pay attention to it considering the fact that most people don't keep up with it outside her super fans and stans.
Britney Spears made her long-awaited arena return when her Femme Fatale tour kicked off at the Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento, Calif., on Thursday (June 16). A slew of fan videos recorded last night capture the pop star running through her stacked back catalogue, along with new hits like "Hold It Against Me" and "I Wanna Go."
B.S. did all her latest hits, some oldies and some totally unexpected songs from various albums, all while donning a handful of shiny (and damn sexy) costumes. Most importantly though: She danced. A lot. Gone are the days of strutting around the stage for the majority of the show; B knew her choreography and hit it hard. If you haven't gotten tickets yet, buy ‘em. Sure, they may be a bit expensive, but Britney puts on a damn good show.
On Thursday night, Britney Spears declared herself a Femme Fatale, launching her tour in Sacramento, California. Having already garnered praise from critics who attended her dress rehearsal, Spears got more rave reviews from music journalists who attended the kick-off show.
"Can't sleep," she Tweeted after the show. "WAY too much Adrenaline right now. Sacramento was on fire tonight." Critics seemed to share her excitement about the tour.
But really, the night belonged to Britney: She managed to prove that she's still progressing as a showgirl. Not only that, she's doing it better than even diehard defenders would’ve predicted. At 29, the pop star whose career seemed in danger of ending just a couple years ago has shown that she's back – hopefully this time to stay.
Though Spears performed like a pro throughout the show, hitting all her marks, she had shown hesitancy in her movements - natural for the first stop on a tour. But that hesitancy vanished when she put on the denim. She seemed at ease.

Wasn't it supposed to be released after In the Zone?
6 years is far too long. 3-4 years would do. Long enough for her to marry Jason, for Sean Preston and Jayden to grow up, and for conservatorship to end. I want her to release music she loves as well. The original concept for "Femme Fatale" was to include many mid-tempos and something with a harder rock edge. It was Britney's idea, and Jive even let her start recording some songs, but they didn't really like how it was turning out and wanted something more conventional/radio-friendly and decided to go in a new direction. (It also explains the lack of songwriting credits.)

Well, Circus to Femme Fatale was 2 years, right?
3 years is just one more year & plus her tour, so it would be like she never left (to the average person), just like with the FF era.
4 years & 2 months.
& I knew all that stuff about Jive replacing the experimental producers. that's too bad.
Anywho, judging by the lack of energy in her performances, the fact that she barely does interviews, and her haggard appearance. I would she already has retired.
She's merely a puppet for her label. Everything is gone. The vocals, the rhythm, the skill, all left behind in Brit-Brat's prime.
She stopped doing interviews... I know When she canceled her Ellen interview I assumed she has bipolar disorder.
You talk like she's 70 or something, she's only 30 and she's been in the game for 13 years now, not so many artists last that long in the business making hits.
End this era, take a 6 year break minimum.
Take care of the kids, experience life, write an autobiography, make some movie cameos.
No artist ever really retires.
Everyone around her is using her for money, it's so sad.
And the people who think she's doing great this era are delusional. The tour is NOT sold out (the latest boxscore is quite tragic tbh), the album isn't selling **** despite huge radio support, and the singles have only done well in North America. If a singles artist is all Britney is now.....
