I'm talking in a way that it is just released, without previous promo, single or etc. You just wake up and it's there. Also to US it is no surprise release but to regular people it will be a Beyoncé type of release where they didnt see it coming

Oh true. But to get technical, a rapper spontaneously releasing a mixtape to me isnt exactly breaking news or out of the ordinary. It wasnt an LP right? It was a mixtape, but hes so popular its been treated like an LP.

For a pop star to spontaneously drop a whole record to me is just too transparent. I dont see it working for any of the major pop girls. People will just attribute the move to Beyonce.

Surprises only really work when the content is great though.

No one has topped Beyonce because she dropped quality music and videos.

The surprise thing is overdone, and too risky for an album. If Drake flopped it would have been "just a mixtape". I think that stakes are a bit too high for Rihanna to drop a full length LP like that.

And if she's going to do it...it better be this week or next week. Because Adele is going to have #1 on lock for a few weeks (and then some)....probably leading right into the new year. Bookmark me.
