You need to re-read pages 1-7 then sis, because the receipts don't lie.
It wasn't well-regarded at the time of release --- but critics and fans alike has grown to not just LOVE Blackout, but regard it as Britney's best work and the beacon for many Top 40 artists today.

Blackout was initially met with a mixed reaction from critics who were put off by the stars explosive personal life, but it’s since gone on to receive a huge critical following and become a favorite of Spears fans and non-fans alike.
After its release indie bible Pitchfork went out of their way to pen a huge article praising Spears and the musical innovation of the album, and The Times ranked it the 5th best pop album of the decade. It was also voted the 7th-best album of the decade on Rolling Stones “The Decade-End Readers’ Poll”, and the 3rd Best Album of the decade on the Billboard “Readers Poll”.

Can we discuss how the Queen of Pop, Madonna, tried to hop on the Blackout/Loose/FSLS bandwagon a year late, proving how Blackout truly is influential?

This could be for Shock Value III. I wouldn't mind a collaboration.

Yes, it is a masterpiece, but it will not have the same iconic effect 'Blackout' has.

I could agree if you said Funeral, Blueprint, College Dropout, hell maybe even American Idiot. But Blackout? Did that even go platinum? How can it be the album of our generation if it barely went platinum and isnt loved by alot of demographics besides the gays and some chicks? Didnt it also get like a 65 on metacritic?

No one was here for Blackout at the time of release, meaning that the Metacritic scores were low. However, many critics and reviewers today have cited Blackout as the leader of current Top 40 radio and have said it was the most influential album of the last 5+ years.
Of course, that doesn't mean the original MC scores can change, however it does mean that everyone has grown to love the album and it is a pop gem.

was going to say this... blackout and In the zone are good, but nobody remembers any Britney albums besides pop music fans.
I thought this thread would be about American Idiot or Fallen or Toxicity or any other album that people still listen to after so many years

It is loved by lots of demographics, you're totally stereotyping.
So Blueprint was only loved by a bunch of black thugs living in poverty? American Idiot was only loved by a bunch of ****ing emo's on acid?
Blackout did go Platinum.
Second of all, (for the 15th time): "No one was here for Blackout at the time of release, meaning that the Metacritic scores were low. However, many critics and reviewers today have cited Blackout as the leader of current Top 40 radio and have said it was the most influential album of the last 5+ years."
I'm not saying this ****, respected critics are.

It's ****ing ATRL, what/who did you expect KRL?!?!
Second of all, NO...not only pop music fans enjoyed Blackout....and third of all, this is not just celebrating BLACKOUT the CD....but BLACKOUT *THEE* ERA.....everyone knows about the VMA Gimme More performance. Everyone knows about the breakdown, the inevitable comeback....
Blackout is so much more than a CD...it has CHANGED/INFLUENCED a lot of what you hear and see today.

American Idiot was universally loved. I was a freshmen in high school when it came out, and alot of black people loved it, popular kids loved it, "emo" kids loved it. I havent seen an album as universally loved as American Idiot in this whole era. The fame came close but not close enough. Britney is more leaning towards specific demographics. this is hard to deny.
