It's very gothic. I don't think it's meant to be straight horror. Like you said, a creepy fable.

It's a very self-aware horror series. It was meant to be a "cheesy" or token death scene. Especially since she was such a big teen star at the time. To have her die so quickly, and playing a stereotypical dumb blonde (opposite of Buffy) was also tongue-in-cheek.
Oh really? That's exciting. I wonder what next season is gonna be like. He even said something about bringing Ariana back.
I'm quite sad cuz I'm a horror buff, but nothing gets me 
it was so messy.
My main problem with H4 was besides the fact it tried to recreate the original Michael looked awkward through the whole movie
