Well she was much younger so she still had a somewhat that "puppy voice" there is a reason why women towards their 30s have the most powerful/ peak in vocals, that is if they are using healthy technique and take care of their voice.
Gaga has no problems with using proper technique, the problem is the smoking and alcohol that damages her vocal cords
