She was part of singing contest just like the guys and she was also part of the most successful girl group of UK, then she got to the X-Factor as a judge and she released a solo career, that has been amazing and has supported the guys, a lot!

No, he didn't. He didn't wanna do it because was scared of the stage and getting rejected
