Hippocrates is the only flaw on Electra Heart, everything else, even the b-sides are perfect (Well, I'm not a big fan of Sex Yeah or The State of Dreaming either)
Hollywood, Shampain, and Seventeen are the three songs off of TFJ I wasn't a fan of.
Anyone on ATRL who says they liked TFJ over Electra Heart is just being horribly pretentious and needs to reevaluate themselves.
This is a pop music forum, let's not be so transparent.
I'm scrolling through this thread and see this mess.
Both EH and TFJ are pop albums, and I personally prefer TFJ. It's a contender for my favourite album ever, but I don't hate EH at all (I actually love it). Marina's catalogue so far is just too good.
ofc youre one of those people who claim to be stans but they only listened to TFJ once and hated it
ew I know right.
I had the privilege of listening to Electra Heart first and falling in love with it. Then I watched some of her old videos on youtube (I Am Not A Robot, Mowgli's Road) and thought they were AWFUL. I kept coming back to them though and started getting used to her voice. Then I downloaded the album and was scared of it for a while, but slowly and surely I saw bits of the EH Marina I had come to love (Numb is the predecessor of Buy The Stars) and eventually I came to love it just as much. It was so awesome to see how she developed but from the backwards perspective. Then she brought out EVOL and I thought it was the perfect middle point between her two sounds.
I fell in love with Hollywood when it came out and I was anticipating TFJ to come out back then. And when it did I was slayed, I loved the album and I still do.
I like EH a lot but I don't think it can reach TFJ in any way ever
Electra Heart will always be my favourite Marina album. It's in my top 5 albums ever (for now)
The era was so flawless, and it was then that I discovered her. Oh god, the memories
