I'm kind of torn with Darabont because I loved season 1, but season 2 did have a weak start and there was a clear improvement with the episodes when Glen fully took over, and season 3 has been incredible so far. But I do miss a lot of what Frank was trying to do and wonder what it would be like if he was still in charge. From what I read it wasn't just budget disputes but he also wanted to do several standalone episodes which sounded cool but I could understand AMC not wanting to go for.
But seriously, the pattern at AMC is getting ridiculous
I won't completely freak out until Mazzara's replacement or more details are announced because maybe they will find someone good, but I have a bad feeling that it may have to do more with something like Glen not wanting to increase the seasonal episode order or the fact that he has indicated he has an idea of how and when he wants to end the series. I will be so disappointed if either turns out to be true
I'm not here for AMC trying to drag this show on as long as they can milk it for, especially because it won't work and both ratings AND quality will probably suffer.
