I watched Audition(1999) yesterday and I was very disappointed, its so long and slow and ultimately the climax isn't worth it.

The Final Girls was amazing. Just finished it! I totally loved it. It has repeat value. Time to show this movie to my friends. I hope there's a sequel.

I watched As Above So Below last night. Some parts were effective, but the ending was corny. I liked the lead girl though

The Final Girls review:

I loved this. Like absolutely loved this.

And I'm going to address everyone's biggest concern first: the PG13 rating. Obviously, the kills are going to be faiiirly lackluster, but I didn't mind too much, honestly. They weren't terrible, and they did fit well enough with the tone of the movie (this really isn't going for scary at all) Plus, the characters are so likeable that they hurt to see anyways. I enjoyed pretty much everyone with a fairly major role except for Blake (who wasn't terrible but was kiiiiinda bland)

Of the characters, Taissa Farmigaa makes for a likeable final girl (and continues to prove she's actually quite talented and that Ryan Murphy is wasting her abilities), and I really enjoyed her scenes with Malin Ackerman (who's miles better here than in Watchmen); they're pretty much the heart/drama of the film. My personal favorite was definitely Vicki, who manages to be entertainingly bitchy, fairly well developed, and sympathetic, AND pretty much functioned as the voice of the audience for a good majority of the film. Aside from her, I'd say my favs were probably Chris, Kurt, Tina, and Duncan.

As for the rest... the jokes are funny, the emotional scenes are genuinely sweet or sad. The directing is on point. The film totally feels like a slasher loveletter while still poking some fun at the genre. Really don't have a lot of negatives for this.

Just watched The House Of The Devil after seeing all the praise it got. The build up was really good but the climax was just horrendous and felt completely rushed. What a shame because it could have been great.

Watched Stung and Knock Knock today as FTVs for the challenge. Stung was a really fun horror comedy with some gross kills. Fun but nothing amazing. 7/10. Knock Knock was in all honesty my favorite Eli Roth film if we are ignoring the AWFUL acting from the main guy. So twisted, funny, and dark. 9.5/10.

Yeah. IDK where he's from but literately the majority of people who saw it were complaining about his performance.

he was hugely popular in the 90's and was revived with last year's masterpiece John Wick, one of the best action/thriller movies I've ever seen. You should watch it

But I can't believe he gave a bad performance in Knock Knock. Guess I'll see tomorrow.

I actually didn't like Stung at all minus the lead guy and the special effects. The main actress was AWFUL, the rest of the cast was uninteresting (Lance Henrickson playing himself was sorta watchable, but), and the pacing was a disaster

Did NOT know Knock Knock was out. Lemme watch

Pefectly said. Also I realized the PG-13 rating actually worked in their favor too especially since they are trying to prevent everyone from dying and they didn't die in a typical slasher way compared to how they are suppose to!
