Bear in mind that Ryan said Gaga signed on for more the more she read from the character. So, I presume the more work she wanted the more he wrote in for her, so I imagine her character will develop over time.
Put it into perspective, you can't focus on a certain person to be the antagonist of your promotions (I'm not starting another "Gaga is the lead!!!" thing, but she has been the centre of the majority of the promotional aspects of this season) but just have her floating about silently in a couple of scenes for the whole series, even Ryan knows better than that.
I really hope that my girl Gaga won't ruin AHS for me. I hope she makes me forget Jessica Lange.
