You're right about that but gay people in the US have it much easier than we did 15 years ago let alone more down the years. I think GLAAD and other gay people focus too much on what some homophobic person says instead of actively doing our part to make changes.

Not just tolerance from straights but also tolerance within the community which there is a big lack of.
Queers of color are often stereotyped and don't have much of a visual presence in gay media.

Not you clocking like that. I mean the first thing people can do to make a difference is accepting eveyone in the LGBT community. Namely the bisexual people, the trans, etc. Same thing applies to African Americans (or any other minority group), and women. Take people like Lorde for example who tears other female artists by claiming to be a feminist. The first thing about being a feminist is being united and pulling women up, not down. Why can't people understand this?

Exactly my point. Biphobia, transphobia, racism the whole nine yards for me true equality is the kind where we make a message how everyone should treat others with respect.

But GLAAD only makes noise at a time where it's convenient for them and the gays need to wake up to that. "equality" with GLAAD is **** a true equality movement about acceptance in the LGBT as well as outside I just want what benefits me and me only.

Noise needs to be made for gays WW, GLAAD has yet to organize a march for gays in Nigeria and Russia and other parts of the world.

This is so true, gay media is just like mainstream media its controlled by white gay men who don't really care about other groups in the LGBT. It always annoyed me how when a gay character is on TV its always a white guy and if there is a gay black men he is very feminine.

Yes, I agree that some gays have priorities mixed up.

Some things GLAAD, PeTA,and other organizations of the like do can get on other people's nerves,tbh.Don't flat out ask companies to stop stocking products because of anti gay comments. all you're doing is fueling that 'gays only want their way or the highway, if you believe in traditional marriage™ you're gonna get silenced' bs people on the right like to get their panties twisted about.

Just boycott the product, tell your friends, and move on.

Gay media is trash to me. Always has been, always will be until representation becomes more universal. Not just for blacks, but for all non-white people.

This is exactly the type of comment I'm talking about in my previous post that gets the LGBT community in trouble.

It is a shame that the ****** company is still selling "Duck Dynasty" merchandise, and in it to make MONEY,, off of the "Duck Dynasty" controversy that is spread across the country in the past days. It is sure obvious, that ****** has no concern for the hundreds of thousands of LGBT shoppers who are in their stores daily. I will be sure to discontinue ALL of my shopping at ****** and visit a competitor, who I know does not support such bigotry.

Seriously, because a company still sells Barilla Pasta, Paula Deen Merchandise, Duck Dynasty merchandise or whatever does NOT mean they are 'turning their backs on their gay customers'.It's one thing of the company ACTUALLY partnered up with them, then sure, but if a company just only sells their products, just boycott the product and go.
