This has forced me to delve deeper into connections between the two artist and I discovered the following:

Adele said after winning at the 2013 GGs that she though Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars were going to get the award over her, and "rightly so" if they did.
Adele also kind of shaded Taylor once though in regards to being asked about the identities her exes. "Nobody famous, just old boyfriends. I don't date celebrities. I ain't facking Taylor Swift, dyouknowhatImean?"
And I think the Brits you're thinking of must've been 2008. Adele didn't go in 2009, only '08, '11, '12, and a video from LA in '13.
