Your Love - 8.5/10 (easy, fresh, happy summer single)
Electric Blue - 7.5/10 (feel-good, Pharrell tease)
On the Rocks - 6/10 (grower, serves a nice bop)
Heartbreaker - 8/10 (dark sound, bridge is everything)
God of War - 9/10 (strong, angry, unusual, fancy sound)
Girl With a Diamond Heart - 5.5/10 (nice bop)
Just a Girl - 9/10 (pure R&B sex in a song)
First Time - 8/10 (sexy Rihanna tease)
Bang - 8.5/10 (sexy R&B, excuse my French, one could bang to this)
Big Fat Lie - 10/10 (one of her best songs, deep, vulnerable and honest)
Run - 10/10 (power ballad, deep and painful)
I was so nervous about this album,
however I am so happy to hear an overall mature and cohesive album,
and two overall distinctive sides to Nicole -
a great sounding, hot-sexy/R&B and also vulnerable-honest Nicole!
Just a Girl/Electric Blue and First Time/Heartbreaker/Bang are very sexy R&B/2007-Nicole songs;
Big Fat Lie/Run probably two of her most deep and vulnerable released songs;
the (in my personal opinion weakest songs on the album, in comparison to the rest, however both growers) two nice bops Girl With a Diamond Heart and On the Rocks;
and the two great stand-alones - easy, fresh Your Love and dancy, angry God of War.
Excited to hear the Deluxe-edition songs in a few days!
Nicole has finally found a sound and has, in my opinion, released a great album!
A solid 7.5-8/10!
Now let's hope it gets the recognition and appreciation it deserves,
and her team finally get their stuff together and make sure the album is heard!
