You know, it honestly doesn’t matter how Gaga WANTS it come across. It’s about how it will be received, regardless of her intent. If Gaga is unable to convey the message she wants to convey in her art, then that is her bad. You can’t always hide behind metaphor or satire. It’s not the general public’s problem if they see the video as some type of rape endorsement or whatever. Satire is supposed to be distinguishable from the real thing. If you’re satirizing something and it looks exactly what you’re supposedly making fun of and people can’t tell the difference between your “satire” and the real thing, then you, the artist, have failed.
