So what's the explanation on Mariah Carey's vocal declination?
I was curious about that too. This is what the person who made those 'how to belt properly' youtube videos said:
"Mariah had nodules since she was a kid... When you have nodules, you are not suppose to be a singer because singing is unhealthy for the nodules. But Mariah is not only singing, she's doing low notes and high notes in every performance and back in the early 90s, she is singing live all the time. There's nothing wrong with MC's technique, it's just the fact that she's not suppose to be singing so much because her voice is more sensitive than others. This causes her vocal decline."
:dontknow:
That and the fact that she used flagolet register a little too frequently especially with the nodules. In fact, she should have been resting her voice or gotten surgery on her nodules. Whitney has them too and so does Celine. It's incredible that all three of them were able to do what they did for music and the industry.
aww thanks so much!!!! That's pretty much what I thought.
She really should get the surgery, she would most likely lose her whistle register but her belting would be much stronger.
