55% of the charts are based on airplay, and digital sales shows the demands of the public, radio shows what radip programmers are picking, yes airplay is somewhat affected by the public, but radio will play what they want, and yes like you said Urban and Rythmic songs rule the chart and if it was based on airplay(which basically what is it today, unless you have really high sales, airplay is the biggest factor) only then it wouldnt be fair to more pop oriented songs that may have the #1 sales.
