Billboard projects that Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" will debut with first-week sales of at least 1.15 million units, far outpacing earlier projections, thanks to explosive sales at Amazon, which priced the album at 99 cents for two days this week. This would make it the biggest debut since 'NSYNC's "Celebrity" in 2001, which bowed with 1.88 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan

Since with TEOG and Hair, all of us little monsters love saxophones solos, you should all listen to Sade old stuff, one really nice example being Your Love Is King (beautiful song):
It sure will, but can someone tell me why on Earth is Taylor Swift so successful in the US?
She's pretty much a one-of-a-kind act. She has an absolutely colossal loyal fanbase. She is the only artist that is bridging pop and country so successfully. She is a darling of the critics, and has the most awarded country album of all time. She's young, has made her transition from girl to woman in a very classy way and is generally well-liked and seen as a role model (despite the fact that many like to say her music sucks and it's all the same and blah blah).
I completely forgot about the fact that BTW was #1 on Amazon in pre-orders alone and those count towards first week sales. So that's 500k + pre-orders.
She's gonna pull in 2,000,000 WW first week. LOL @ HER DOING IN ONE WEEK WHAT HER LESSERS NEED 6 MONTHS TO DO.

So she's basically the perfect the daughter in law, and parents buy her albums for their children because they know they won't hear any bad words on them or that she's in love with Judas... Well it makes sense...
But the artists I love are those for whom the music is the translation of their scares, their struggles and true emotions, not little girls stuff... even thoug I have respect for that! (Lady GaGa, Hawksley Workman, Dido, Kate Bush...)

No.
She has two primary audiences. The first is a huge country audience. She's one of the most successful country artists of all time, and the most successful of the digital age. The second is a huge audience of pop listeners who find her music relateable.
It's a shame that so many people think she's an artist for children. Certainly, her self-titled first album was a teenage album completely. It was written when she was fifteen years old. It's all about teenage relationships. But her last two albums have shown tremendous growth. Yes, she tackles relationships still, because in reality, one struggles with relationships all of their lives. It's not as if she's the only grown-up woman singing about love. But on top of that, she delves deeply into the transition from child to adulthood, what it means for her, what it means for everyone and why it's so difficult. In a sense, she is so successful because, despite her immense fame, she is familiar and relateable to people.

So be it! I respect everyone's taste and opinion, and tbh I did not listen to her last tracks, the only one I have in mind is "love story".
There is room for all kinds of artists on Earth...
