Keshaspears, I fixed yours
Euphoressay, I can't get through a single essay of yours without bursting out laughing

I'm sharing the song I submitted for this round because I took a risk with how everything's structured so, hopefully, y'all can draw whatever inspiration you get from it. That's what each and every artist strives towards, I feel. To be taken seriously and inspire others to create their own lane in the end.
Wooden Branches (Where We Begin)
KEY
Female artist
Male artist
Both
VERSE #1
These false promises you gave me
I can’t get through this
Then I ask myself when I'm alone: ‘Am I really worth it?’
Your breath lingers like a vacant stare
Now I feel helpless
If you cut me this far deep, I guess I deserve sh!t
SPOKEN THOUGHT
Let me in, beneath your skin, into your inn, where we begin
Where we begin, in days past ways of wounding each other
Through this empty betrayal
CHORUS
Where do we begin? Are we still pretending?
Cause I really wanna know
Whether you felt the love I wrecked from long ago
But darling, you’re not gonna make me choose
In fear of losing everything else that became true
And all that came between us too/two*
POST-CHORUS/HOOK
We are both just wooden branches
Stumped, with nowhere else to grow
Pathetic twiggy wooden branches
Creating our own shadows
VERSE #2
The longing that has consumed my mind
Infected me like the guilt you designed
I die inside, but you don’t see the blood
So why is it never enough?
We were meant to be fearless
To be everything I'm truly not
I still feel worthless
So why is it never enough?
SPOKEN THOUGHT #2
We’re both just sickly, blasted wooden branches with an urge to reach the end
These leaves of the same seedling planted surround the ashes of our regrets
The parasite that stirs inside all of us smiles in mere upset
CHORUS
Where do we begin? Are we still pretending?
Cause I really wanna know
Whether you felt the love I wrecked from long ago
But darling, you’re not gonna make me choose
In fear of losing everything else that became true
And all that came between us too/two*
POST-CHORUS
We are both just wooden branches
Stumped, with nowhere else to grow
Pathetic twiggy wooden branches
Creating our own shadows
BRIDGE
This was a curse right from the start that’s why we’re drifting so far apart
But I gave you my soul to keep and yet you keep on doubting me
I know you’re (somewhere) over there,
Do you know I’m (living in fear) right here at the brink of despair?
Feeling like it’s what we should be embracing;
The love we grew from this brew of hatred
CHORUS
Where do we begin? Are we still pretending?
Cause I really wanna know
Whether you felt the love I wrecked from long ago
But darling, you’re not gonna make me choose
In fear of losing everything else that became true
And all that came between us too/two*
POST-CHORUS
We are both just wooden branches
Stumped, with nowhere else to grow
But we still never let go
Pathetic twiggy wooden branches
Creating our own shadows
But we still never let go
But we still never let go
*NOTE: This is a double entendre btw.

Maybe it's not my place to say this, but this game's contestants react more emotionally to judge feedback than anything else I've ever been in here. Why is that?

Because when some of us write songs, they could be very emotionally draining. We want them to be perceived well. They're very important to us! You do put a lot of hard work on them. Not to mention, those who are able to write lyrics, or poetry, tend to be very emotional people, with the ability to express that through words.
EDIT: and to feelslikeadream , oh.

Take from this what you will but I do feel like people are more defensive over their 'pride' and what they feel dignified by.
In this case, it's something personal to all of us - our lyrics which is an art created that no one ever seems to grasp.
It's the Gaga syndrome, in short.

OK, serious question. Are Euphorian and I the only ones who not only used different colors to seperate the people singing each part, but also included a key to explain the colors before the song? Cause the telepathic realness being served right now is getting to me

I'm just kidding Y'all will get used to my sense of humor eventually. Just remember that when I pretend to drag you, it means I like you. Except for Euphoria, who I drag because he deserves it.

That moment when you write a song feeling like pop culture is in ART in you and you can't wait for the Applause. Then you read the comments and it ignites flames in your heart. Burns every trace of hope you have left. I was a pyramid, now I'm just a grain of sand. I feel like crap. I feel early 2000's P!nk M!ssundaztood. My songs are just like a pill, instead of making me better they keep making me ill.
