The PRAISE I'm seeing for this song out of Lana's fanbase is unreal. Even Reddit seems to love it and they usually hate Lana! Everyone agrees its a great modern song that totally fits the feel of Great Gatsby/the 20s

But it's not massively different from much of her other stuff, it's just that this song has the exposure. So many Americans just see her name and think SNL and dismiss her, moviegoers have to witness this song and then, HOLY COW, realise she's pretty incredible actually. It's been the perfect vehicle for her to change the ingrained perceptions of the US public imo.

I think Y&B is overrated (I prefer Ride from her songs with basic choruses) but I'm so happy that thanks to Y&B people in US finally checking on her (viz increase in sales of Born to Die, Paradise and her other singles)
