You can just copy paste any song into your phone, the lack of itune sync doesn't bother me (and I'm sure you'll easily find an app for that on the store).
And Samsung uses a very durable "plastic" (it's polycarbonate ), according to reviews it's even more resistant than glass (iphone) or aluminium (HTC One).
