Felt the same way. The combination of the slow hazy production mixed with his slow drawl throughout the album wasn't really cutting it for me.

It has to be engaging though.
I feel like you can only make that kind of statement about music that's 90-100% instrumentation since that can be engaging at the very least (I know it's not exactly in reference to your statement but still.). And from what I've heard/remember, the PJ album was
far more engaging than the Nick Cave one just based off instrumentation alone.
