1. Fight Song - A girl's gotta respect the fact that Rachel worked so hard to break into the music industry and managed to make it with one of the most paint-by-numbers and generic (thematically, melodically, what have you) songs of all time! Anybody could have made this song, yet it was luckily Queen Rachel that prevailed!
2. Stand By You - It takes TRUE talent to make a song that is less generic than Fight Song yet somehow even worse. My fave >>>>>
3. woo the first two songs are so chock-full of talent that I can't bring myself to listen to a third!
ill have my trinity up when i get into her non-delirium albums 2morrow
but really, this "fake" stanning has made me actually pressed how her current era is being handled. delerium is too good of an album to be dragged like this by her own damn label. its like they stopped caring once they got their 1 smash with lmlyd
She always handles her eras pretty awful, such a waste 'cause her albums are perfection
This angst masterpiece was the lead single to her iconic 16x Platinum album (not everyone has that). The song is believed to be about Uncle Joey from Full House and woo does she drag him to the pits and back and even exposes how he liked his bjs. This was the first Alanis song I ever loved. It is a modern classic and has even been covered or praised by Legends like Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson.
2. Ironic:
This iconic song was so huge in 1996 and remains iconic to this day thanks to Alanis's ability to change the Enligsh language and redefine what the word "ironic" means. Ha Impact! And the way the chorus just hits you when it starts, "It's like raaaaaaAAAAin…"
3. Thank U:
Queen Alanis shows her humility and gratitude on this track. It was the follow-up to her smash album Jagged Little Pill. She delivered another smash and certified herself as more than just a one album wonder. She delivered an iconic video (that the other gorls these days which they could do) when she appeared nude. This mellow track shows her versatility especially when people tried to pigeonhole her as an angry rocker.
Okay, thinking of doing 3 faves: at least Miranda Cosgrove (main) and Hillary Clinton. Someone suggested Emily Osment earlier, should I do her or should I stan someone else?
Wait at me listening to some of Jagged Little Pill and actually thinking of downloading Alanis's discography. Woo does my fave still slay 20 years later.
Woo this iconic party staple. I love how fresh, unique and original this song sounded back in 2010 and it really hasn't aged a day! Luke, his classic production style >>> truly an original pop masterpiece in a sea of fads and forgotten flops. Too bad the singer had to go and ruin things for Luke with her slanderous lies and defamation of his character.
If you thought "TiK ToK" was all that Luke had to offer, think again! This completely game-changing masterpiece is a real departure from Luke's usual sound, but it still managed to smash the charts, kill careers and begin the greatest record of all time, "Most US Billboard Hot 100 #1s from one album". Half of Luke's #1s come from Katy's confectionary collection, as can be seen in the Dr. Luke Receipts Thread
This Dr. Luke Top 3 wouldn't be complete without some dique, further showing Luke's lack of discrimination and versatility. King Luke yet again reinvents the wheel with this never-done-before 2011 anthem. Every time I listen to this song I just think, "Wow, Dr. Luke produced this? I'd NEVER have guessed." This might not have topped the charts like the first two songs, but that just gives Luke more indie cred for this forward-thinking, ahead-of-its-time magnum opus.
