RTW was just a mess. It's not about that sound not being in. It sampled Pon de Flor, an EDM classic from a few years prior. She was hopping on that trend....it just came out a huge mess.

Yeah, RTW never stood a chance on radio & still wouldn't. I just think it's held up really well & has ended up one of the most remembered songs of 2011.

And I do think the charts are more diverse now than they were back at the time.

In the Night was one of the worst received songs on the album since release. I love it personally, but oh well. He should release Acquainted or Dark Times. DT is probably almost guaranteed to do well with the Ed feature. But Acquainted as more of that "Hills" type sound people couldn't get enough of.

That song was never going to perform well, the iTunes sales and Spotify streams showed that clearly. Well it's doing something WW at least.

That producer is the one to blame for the worst songs this decade. He's so generic. Thank God Bey has never and won't ever work with him. She rejected Wrecking Ball.

I also think Run the World would have slayed had it been released a few years later.
