That's my issue with the sims 4. It plays like the Urbz and less like 1/2/3 where the focus was on more of a dollhouse type scenario. I hated the Urbz. This sims 4 feels like some sort of hobby simulator, instead.

If the next GamePack isn't Vacation themed, my guess the next EP is Vacation themed.
Also, City Living is FULL of Vacation posters. Like, everywhere there are Airport ads.

Seeing as I've been told they are working on Vacay content.

I'd tolerate a Vacation GP (after OR), but an EP is too much. I really want them to revamp old EP concept from 3 and 2. Let the new ideas work for GP's

If the next pack is Vacation then I hope they make it a tropical theme. I really miss beach houses

But as far as easter eggs go, they've hinted at Pets since GTW, so they're probably working on that too.

MTE, they've been hinting at it for a while now. + a simguru on Reddit answered a question about the possibility of pets and seasons on TS4 and the guru actually answered instead of ignoring the question so that should tell us something. Another question was about toddles and pets and if they will be introduced as objected and a simguru said "no"

What kind of sacrilegious comparison The Urbz is excellent, The Sims 4 is not.

OT: Hoping the vacation pack can redeem the series somewhat. Hopefully it's more like Bon Voyage and less like World Adventures.

i have been playing sims 4 again and it's been much better then i remembered!

also got the sims 2 ultimate collection and have been playing that again too. i've mostly spent my time building houses and doing interior stuff. man, sims 2 is definately my fav

Both are amazing but City Living has a lot more to offer.

Get Together is cute for building and fashion and the club system is useful if you want your sim to meet other sims.

So I say get both but for now start with City Living.

If you're a fan of first-gen Sims (The Sims 1/The Sims Bustin Out/The Urbz) then you'll like it.
If you're a fan of The Sims 2, and don't care about Open World, it's similar, but not the same.
If you're a fan of The Sims 3, it will take you a while to adapt, and you probably won't.

That's the general opinion from what I've read around.

Urbz was trashed when it came out, though. Which is the point about The Sims 4.
Sims fans trash the games that fall out of the norm, and then they become fan faves.

The Sims Urbz was trashed so bad, they cancelled the sequel, and even made a joke about the fact they had to bury copies of The Sims Urbz because no one wanted it. (In The Sims 2, you can find copies of the Urbz underground, and your Sims throw them back).

Simmers (Sims stans, and yes, it has a fanbase ) love to bitch and moan a lot. that's the problem with a game that you can personalize and play in your own style.

Everyone wants things to go their way and everyone wants their very own EP/GP.

This literally how I'm feeling right now. I got Sims 4 3 days ago and I got bored started yesterday. There isn't really anything much to do. I only like it because of the UI and new interactions (which is basically the same interactions with S3 but only more sophisticated); and it runs faster on my laptop (which is weird, Sims 3 seems kind of laggish for me). I think the only thing wrong with Sims 4 is that its so limited, and it feels like they're chopping Sims 3 base game into different game parts/expansions.
