One of my friends is arguing with me that Gaga only co writes her songs, and her "proof" is that in the booklet it says Gaga's name alongside other people (with the exception of You and I).
I don't know what else to say to her....I brought up old videos showing her writing skills from before she started like Captivated and Electric Kiss. But I am also wondering what it means that Red One and Fernando Garibay are listed as writers....what words aren't coming from her?

The producers sometimes change a melody or the more intricate parts of songs. Gaga may write the bulk of them but the producers refine it. She is credited as the main producer of every song.
Dye , tell your friend that making a song is not that easy as he thinks. Especially for pop music it has to be perfect and commercial. Each song is written by many people so that everyone's best ideas are put into it. Esp for high production songs

Exactly. Like Gaga always says, every lyric and melody is hers. But the production of the song, the *idea* of the song, may sometimes come from others. The documentary last night gave me a good insight... she was talking about Fernando sitting there playing chords which she then wrote a melody and lyrics over. She's basically writing the song, he's providing the inspiration; both get credited as writers.
My mom watched the MTV interview with Gaga, and she was raving about her to me. She couldn't stop talking about how sweet Gaga seemed and how genuinely nice she is. She also said that she thinks Gaga is beautiful, and that "one thing is for sure: she really cares about her fans." And then she went on raving about how cute the Google Chrome commercial is, etc.
