But YLM is a huge risk though, I would prefer it to close the era because I think LMD would have more success/is a clearer success.

I've always supported DS as a single but i do think it's risky just cause it is (was?) more mellow than most of the songs on pop radio at the time the album came out, which is why i wanted it released directly after WDKY smashed so she could benefit from the momentum. I'm a little more confident in it now, but it was undeniably a risk when the album first dropped.

If WAY + STIUK can smash I see no reason why DS couldn't smash tbh. It is quite a mellow song but the chorus is quite anthemic and I think the beat certainly counterbalances the tempo.

Yea, i feel better about DS now, but only because those two smashed and Kelly is in a good position to take risk.

Though, it took both of them to dominate in sales before radio really began picking them up. I don't really see that happening for DS (the radio support will come first).

btw, I recently just started appreciating the studio version of WA. i never liked it until I listened to it high one day and realized how much of a ****ing jam it is. It's probably the most rythmic-worthy single she's ever released.

WA is awesome....Idk why people hated it so much on here...Yes, she did over perform it after a while but it really is a great track...The most memorable performance will forever remain at the CDUK show when she was in all black.

I dont want some of the things Clive did for Kelly but you cant deny he also helped Kelly to be successful and Kelly would have been one of the biggest pop star of this generation if she listened more to him. He knows what he is doing.

And memo Clive's ears knows a true hit. If there's one person to ask he is deffin one of them.

If I remember correclty, he was pretty terrible when it came to single choices. He pushed and promoted her right but when it came to singles, he fell flat.

Kelly had to fight for Miss Independent to be released and it got her her first #1 on Pop and her first Grammy nomination.

Breakway was only put on the Breakaway album because it was a surprise hit. Guess he didn't see that coming

And Kelly fought to have BoY released and it became her biggest single to date.

I won't completely discredit him. Obviously he's good at managing some careers and picking hits.. but the golden ear **** is BS. He's had plenty of flops to go with his successes.

Did I say I'm gonna side with him? I was just saying that Clive has good ears for success and also helped Kelly somehow. That's it.

I can also give the bigger blame to Kelly's previous manager/handler than Clive for those schedules and management that was done to Kelly. It was INHUMAN and Kelly had a trauma with it because she was taken to the extremes. If only she was handled properly, treated like a human it would be different.

How can Kelly change that song if it wasnt given to her? Especially the producers don't want that song to be sung by her until Clive forced them and completely agreed until they heard Kelly sing it. Im not giving all the credit to him but let's not take away all of it.
