You all realize she is a living icon, right? She doesn't have to do any of that anymore. This was her comeback performance after the disaster of 2007. She did her thing and is getting praised for it. You guys are acting like the hive - i'm sorry. Not everything is a competition and not everyone needs to outdo everybody - because ALL of those little acts are still competing to be HALF of what Brit was in her prime. MJ, Whitney, Stevie, Celine, exc. all do their thing and aren't/weren't concerned about needing to be like everyone else.

If you believe Brit is a legend, treat her as so. If you believe Brit is an icon, treat her as so. She has nothing left to prove and absolutely everything to gain. She is a walking icon. end of story.

Again, DO NOT post in any of those ridiculously vile threads. Her name and legacy is unmatched and doesn't need to be compared to anyone in order to be relevant. She was ALIVE during this performance she was amazing. The fact that she has haters from other bases fuming is the surest sign you need that she will never fade.

Britney herself wasn't bad. The dancing and attitude were on form in fact and unlike BBMA, she wasn't shaky at the start. She was good imo, the performance itself was just boring, nothing too interesting about it. I would've preferred a medley; something like beginning with the opening verse of Invitation, then Make Me, then maybe another Glory song.

Was the performance epic? Definitely not. Was it career ending? Not at all.

Had she gone for the crazy performance with all the pyrotechnics and special effects and gimmicks and gone head-to-head with Beyoncé, she would have lost. Beyoncé is coming off a huge visual album and has been hyped to the heavens for months now. Brit stayed in her own lane and did something more low-key and it worked for her.

I'm sad that it's all over and that I'm slightly underwhelmed. I was so hyped for something amazing, and although she had great energy and stage presence, the performance as a whole fell a little flat. I guess it's my own fault for getting my hopes up.
