I thought she did great, I don't understand why she's getting so much hate. The choreo was crisp and she attempted singing live atleast. I'm just happy she wasn't far ahead of her background dancers for once.

This is why the BBMAs slayed for me and this performance didn't. She knows how much people hype her at the VMAs but it's been so long and that performance anxiety never used to be so bad. The whole time she was avoiding looking directly at the camera or the audience. It makes me sad. Like I get it, but it still makes me sad.
I did notice this. She did not look at the camera or really act engaging. BBMA's did have that tho, truly.
I'm happy some of y'all enjoyed it but I'm just not a fan of the Vegas performance at all.
Like someone else said, if she was gonna rehash a Vegas performance it should have been a good one. There's a reason why the BBMAs were amazing and this wasn't.
She should've just re-created the red glitter/cage scene from the original MM video and lipped to the pre-recorded vocals. It would've been SO much better.
