Right! It's one of my favorite albums ever.
Well, maybe Staring Problem is weak...

If I said Best Actress Oscar winner, it would have been TOO obvious.

Cher! I feel like saying gone too soon, but then watch her die tomorrow...
She deserves to be a little higher. She really is one of a kind.

Someone who seems interesting, yet I've never had the motivation to get into her.

Oops, not Björk
I never knew Cher won at Cannes! Amazing. Then again, I've never really watched any of her films; maybe I should get around to it.
I feel like Cher should be a bit higher, but oh well.

I really want to get into Cher (I have the classics and the essentials) but her discography is daunting.

Cher is the story of endurance. The ultimate pop culture phoenix, she emerged from the ashes of a hardscrabble youth to become a global icon, persevering through a bumpy five-decade career filled with more ups, downs, dropped contracts, epic comebacks, difficult marriages and TV infomercials than any mere mortal could survive. You can hear it all in her voice, that distinctive bellow that effortlessly conveys years of pain and perseverance through its deep, rich androgyny. It has allowed Cher to convincingly dabble in nearly every genre of music known to man, reinventing her style, her image, her career, time after time, again and again. Cher also mastered television early on, and an Oscar-winning foray into film provided a template for generations of singers to come, though it’s never been equaled. Then, at the ripe old age of 52, she reached a remarkable new peak with a hit so massive and brilliantly groundbreaking in its use of Auto-Tune that it would literally change the course of pop music. It’s a power that Cher seems to have, permeating our culture so thoroughly that she’s become not just royalty, but a Hollywood deity. She reigns above the rest—a timeless presence, an abiding symbol—her triumph a vision of the possibility we all wish for ourselves.

Isn't Believe the first song (or single) to ever use Auto-Tune?

The main three: Silkwood (1983, supporting actress nomination), Mask (1985, Meilleur Actrice at Cannes), and Moonstruck (1987, Best Actress WIN).
The other boys/girls will NEVER.
