I am surprised that DIY didn't get a ROTY nod. In terms of the overall sound, instrumentals, and the chorus, It's a lovely record. There's still hope for SOTY, though I'm really not here for "eat the cake . . ." being praised for any sort of "lyrical quality." I remember when Call Me Maybe got a SOTY nod, when really, it should've been ROTY candidate. Maybe the academy voters feel the same way about DIL. If SIT gets a SOTY nod, then I think I might join the mob and get a pitchfork.
Are you in Pre-K? Cause it's more complex than that. Katy and Miley KILLED Gaga in 2013, EASILY. She was on the sidelines with Applause, begging for response from the GP while Roar/DH and WCS/Wrecking Ball were gigantic.
Grammy's isn't just about quality, know that. And definitely won't give pity noms just because they have the same MC score. Poptart just wasn't in the game like the other 2 albums, clearly.

CHANDELIER deserves every Grammy nomination it has gotten!! That's a POP Masterpiece!!! It deserves to win Record of the Year and Pop solo Performance!! Chandelier and Stay with me are the frontrunner in their categories, IMO.
Also, if you're complaining about nominations being "trash and only about popularity" when you used to brag about them all the time, that kinda says more about your fave's current status than the awards show itself.
