I agree with that last bit, I had to force myself on Judas, I can tolerate it now but I wonder if I'm just being "biased" or something. I like it now but I really pushed it on myself. MTN is the only song that instantly hit me, TEOG didn't take too long either.
"Iku Iku... ay mi papito"
Hmmm.
I liked Judas instantly. Just like everything from Born This Way. I liked everything from The Fame Monster on first listen too. I only loved certain tracks on The Fame at first, and have come to love everything GaGa's made.
Idk. The Judas chorus is so good for me personally.
I'm no longer sure what the point of this post is except to express my love for Judas.
Judas is one of my least favorite songs on the entire album. After many listens, I think the Juda-Juda-ah-ah hook is what kills the accessibility of the song. It's the part that I no longer enjoy hearing after overplaying the song. It's the part all of my friends hate. It's the reason why a lot of people seem to find it annoying immediately upon first listen. My first impression of the song was that the production was too crowded, but that's not really the case. It's almost entirely that hook.
Born This Way remains one of the best tracks. I don't understand the EY nonsense. I mean, if someone is going to come after a song for sounding like EY, at least waste your time with FOHL. While that song is obviously more of a Whitney tribute, one of the hooks sounds much more like EY than anything in Born This Way.
I want The Edge Of Glory video to be similar to that Google add, that or MTN to have something with the streets of New York(in the night, with neon lights). I just don't see how a mermaid video will work, I hope these rumors aren't true. It sounds too cheesy and I just don't think it will work without looking cheap.
All I know is that I want an effin mindblowing video, something that will make people's jaws fall down...
I want her to hit hard and big with it! She needs to show those bitchiz out there that she is number one!

I'm new to the thread and just found this forum the other day when I was searching early projections for BTW. I have studied Chart Analytics for quite some time and work in finance, and wanted to share some numbers:
EOG Airplay -as of 5/27/11
Top 40:
2255 spin increase, 176 stations
Hot AC:
270 spin increase, 43 stations
Rhythmic:
203 spin increase, 26 stations
EOG has the strongest bullet on Top 40 right now, by 600 basis points, of +1948 spins and sits at #16. The bullet for Judas had already started to decline and it peaked at #16. Airplay for the songs ahead of her on the top 15 that have a declining bullet (she'll surpass quickly):
15.) Forget You (-467)
14.) Down on Me (-1455)
10.) S&M (-1118)
9.) Blow (-1135)
7.) Written in Starts (-286)
3.) Just Can't Get Enough (-84)
1.) E.T. (-503)
Airplay for the songs ahead of her on the top 15 that have a inclining bullet, but have started to slow down (she'll surpass eventually):
14.) Show Goes On (+416)
12.) Price Tag (+36)
11.) For First Time (+126)
6.) On The Floor (+299)
4.) Til The World Ends (+67)
Her biggest airplay competition
8.) Give Me Everything (+1706)
5.) Lazy Song (+1000)
2.) Rolling in the Deep (+1473)
Fact: Next week, EOG will comfortably be in the top 10 at Top 40. In two weeks, Top 5. Don't be surprised if her music video magically appears once she's vying for #1 on Pop radio (as an effort to align iTune sales back to #1 in case of a dip).
Fact: Once she is Top 10 at Pop, her bullets at Rythmic and Hot AC will explode. Most formats wait to follow the performance of a song in their originating format, before adding it. EOG is a Pop song, so once it performs there, it'll become adapted. ('Umbrella' didn't get picked up by pop until it blew up on Urban - same with 'Be Without You', 'Irreplaceable'. Conversley, 'Firework' and 'E.T.' didn't get picked up by Rythmic until it blew up on pop.
Opinion: I'm fairly certain EOG will be a #1 Airplay hit and her Fourth #1 Hot 100. I believe it'll be the song of the summer. A colleage said it best, "This is the kind of song that can be played at a bar and everyone will sing along. It has a very "Don't Stop Believing' appeal."
ALBUM SALES
Confirmed the album will debut well over a million. As also discussed, Amazon has discounted albums in the past with the following high profile albums: Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Taylor Swift. They even did this with Kid Rock before his album was releasted to iTunes. Amazon's rational: short term loss, for a long term gain. Last year, Amazon's music store rose 11%
Amazon will show an operating short fall for the album of approx the following
- Approximate albums sold: 450,000
- Approximate profit at $0.99 market value: $445,500
- Approximate cost paid to Interscope: $3,150,000 (450 units x $7)
- Amazon's approximate loss from promotion: $2,704,500
I assure you, ignorant bloggers will fire back at Gaga without knowing the above information, calling it chart manipulation. I also assure you, Intersope Records will release an official statement stating the album was purchased from Amazon at whole sale price. I hope this becomes a moot point amongst us fans going forward.
ALBUM SALES: Post debut week.
It goes without saying, a 60% drop in the second week is expected, even conservative. The higher her debut, the higher her drop. However, Interscope records (best friend works there) feels EOG will have the WBT (We Belong Together) effect. The song will slowly climb to number one, sit there for awhile, and keep album sales consistent through the summer. Expect sales to be around 300k and 200k the second and third weeks, respectively. Thereafter, even the most conservative projections are saying that she'll sell at least 100k for the next 8 weeks.
I apologize if the post was long, but I want this woman to have all the commercial success possible due to her efforts towards LGBT advocacy and for her fight for HIV awareness. In addition, I'm a passionate fan who appreciates her on an artistic level. Opinion: This album is an extreme grower and such a step forward from previous efforts. Lyrically, vocally, and production - all an advance.
