Applause certainly isn't going #1 anytime soon but I'm really glad she's spreading her promo out and going for a solid single with longevity as opposed to a frontloaded single that sells on hype and overexposure before fizzling out in 2 weeks.

I think shes going to perform just fine this era and anyone that was expecting Artpop to unleash a string of #1 singles was delusional as hell.
