Congress is all about compromise. That is it's purpose - there is more to the United States than hardcore liberals, just as there is more than hardcore conservatives. It's about forming coalitions and building relations. Finding ways to help and give voice to the people on all sides of the fence.

That's great in theory but that's not how it works, for the most part, anymore. Not with the gridlock. Republicans will never work with Hillary. Bernie is more well respected amongst the Senate at least than Hillary. Just ask Obama what happens when you try to work and reason with republicans.

As for the electability issue with Bernie, the top candidates on the republican side are very far to the right so it's not like Bernie would be facing some moderate republican.

Push for it. Encourage people to vote for pro-single payer democrats for election to congress. Make people engaged with the political process. Whilst I will admit that Bernie is a lot of thunder he is doing what needs to be done. Engangment of people, especially the young, with the political process.

The only way things will change for the better and you and me probably have similar views on what is better is to get people to vote for it. Get people to use their right to vote to change the status quo rather than simply accepting the status quo as immovable.

Hilary doesn't inspire that in people, she just wants to be elected and therefore will choose the easiest path.

We need bold.

But so what, though? Respect is not what's going to make them pass single payer healthcare. They just won't. There really is no other way around it than to win more Democratic seats. It's literally impossible any other way. Neither Hillary nor Bernie will change that; but in the event that one of the m actually is able to change it, Hillary has a better chance.

I agree with you that Bernie is found his best to push for it. It needs to be done and I trust him more than anyone else, including Hillary, to get it done.

However the results speak for themselves. Sure she couldn't get what she truly wanted but Bernie has not got any of his proposals done. Clinton has worked across the aisle and got what she wanted. Affordable health care for children. This was during her time as First Lady. She knows that as president she'll have even more opportunities to do it that's why she's running and why I support her and why Bernie should be around her either as VP (or vice versa) because she knows how to get results
