Obviously we're referring to the systemic positions of power and prejudice established by the majority race (usually white people) and it's virtually impossible to be racist in that manner. Also also words like the n-word which a strong negative history and a word that we want to keep out of other people mouth are nothing compared to "crackers" and the new "Beckys" simply because of the power difference associated with these words. Of course those aren't the only one. Although if we're talking flat out hate, kill all whites nonsense that's pretty clear-cut racism but that's quite rare compared to the opposite side.
I guess what I'm saying is that things perceived to be racist against whites are hardly similar to what is racist against PoC which is why racist jokes about PoC are hardly similar in the same light to jokes about white people.

well, racial slurs and racism are two completely different things, by definition racism is:
Quote:

a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
|
and there are a few sub visions, such as personal racism and institutional racism, I believe all people can be racist, however only minorities can experience institutional racism.
if let's say a blue person believes a green person is inferior just for being green, well that's racism to me, any person can believe their race is superior to someone elses, and that's what some people fail to understand.
and about racial slurs, I don't think we should let them define if people are racist or not, if I used any racial slur, and did not know the negativity that the word carries, I would apologize and educate myself, but that doesn't mean I'm racist, however if you are using them in a derogatory way, knowing that it can hurt someone elses feelings, then yes, you are a racist.
